Cafe Bean Here Bean There
I co-created Cafe Bean Here Bean There project between six partners/individuals. The cafe was on road for the duration of the project (mid sept to mid oct, 2013) in a mobile van based on the principles of gift economy and the lost art of mobile storytelling.
It’s been a dream project, since we are put a cafe into a van and travelled across 8 cities-collecting and sharing stories, creating community spaces in our often disjointed urban areas, conducting workshops, celebrating and mapping each city and finally tying it all together by being ‘pay as you may’.
We’ve travelled together with our bag of varying skill sets and conducted workshops wherever we stoped since we sincerely believe that skills should be passed on and should not die with an individual or body. Through jewellery making workshops, letter writing, conversations, film screenings, theatre, arts and crafts workshop, and music, the intent to create a free space in an urban environment to interact, explore, share skills, and have a lot of fun in the process.
